Surgery
Whether your pet needs a spay or neuter or a more serious surgical procedure, Orangewood Animal Hospital is here to take care of your pet.
Prior to surgery you will be advised of when to withhold food and water. Surgical check in time is usually between 8 - 8:30 a.m. unless otherwise specified. We perform a full physical exam and perform bloodwork to screen for any problems prior to surgery We place an IV catheter to allow for administration of anesthesia, fluids and other medications that may be needed. We monitor your pet's heart rate , respiratory rate, blood pressure, spO2 and temperature during the procedure. We provide pain management before,during and after the procedure. We recommend the use of inflatable or plastic e-collars to prevent licking or chewing at the incision(s). |
